Why is Canada the top choice for a dream work destination?

A recent research conducted by the British company Givetastic indicates that when it comes to employment destinations, Canada leads the world.

Givetastic identified the ideal locations to work abroad for practically every nation by examining the average monthly search volume for terms that match, such as "jobs" and "work," and employing translation as needed.

The study, which involved surveying people in 164 different nations, emphasized the allure of Canada, which is fueled by its strong employment market, comprehensive healthcare system, and employee perks. Significantly, 56 nations (or 34.1% of all nations) chose Canada as their preferred option, highlighting the country's standing as a premier hub for the workplace.

According to Givetastic's analysis, the top desired job locations were:

  • Canada (in 56 countries)

  • Germany (13 countries)

  • Qatar (11 countries)

  • U.K. (8 countries)

  • Switzerland, Australia (7 countries each)

  • Spain, U.S. (6 countries each)

  • Malta (5 countries)

  • Niger, Portugal (4 countries each).

Quebec's International Draw

Givetastic used the same process to determine which cities, states, and regions are most popular for people to relocate for employment-related reasons.

Dubai is the most sought-after destination for emigration for employment, based on the amount of Google searches conducted in 69 out of 150 nations. Quebec, on the other hand, was Dubai's nearest rival.

Emphasizing the province's worldwide appeal, Quebec ranked as the top search in 28 out of 150 nations, including Colombia, Mexico, Morocco, and Cameroon.

How come Canada?

Canada was a top work destination in a wide range of diverse countries, including Bangladesh, Chile, Ecuador, Kenya, Nigeria, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and the United States, according to Givetastic research.

For a number of reasons, Canada is a desirable place for foreign nationals to work and immigrate. First off, there are top-notch educational institutions and universal healthcare available, along with a high standard of living in the nation.

Canada is a friendly destination for immigrants and their families since it is a low-crime, safe, and tranquil nation.

Moreover, Canada is among the most multicultural nations. It makes it simple for immigrants to settle down, assimilate into Canadian society, and enjoy their new communities since it encourages inclusivity and respect for all cultures and religions.

The nation offers numerous immigration streams, sponsorship options, and work and study visa programs in an effort to promote a diversified workforce and ensure socioeconomic growth.

Important immigration initiatives in Canada include the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TSWP), which provide qualified foreign individuals with permanent status. More than 437,000 foreigners were given permanent residency in Canada in 2022—the highest number ever in a single year.

The Immigration Levels Plan for 2024–2026 was published by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on November 1st, 2023. The goal set by Canada is to bring in 485,000 new permanent residents by 2024, 500,000 by 2025, and then reach a plateau of 500,000 by 2026.

In addition to supporting family reunion and emphasizing economic growth, the plan also acknowledges the sharp increase in immigration in recent years and provides for humanitarian emergencies.
