Typically, skilled workers who wish to immigrate to Canada as permanent residents (PRs) submit applications to Express Entry.
Express Entry: What is it?
A crucial immigration route for the Canadian government is Express Entry. The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and a section of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) are among the skilled worker programs overseen by Express Entry.

What exactly is an ECA?
Getting an educational credential assessment (ECA) is mandatory for many people who are applying for Canadian permanent residency, while it also gives other people a chance to improve their competitiveness in the Express Entry pool.
The IRCC evaluates ECAs to determine the comparability of educational credentials (degrees, diplomas, certificates, etc.) achieved abroad with Canadian requirements.

Vinod, an Indian male, is 28 years old and single. He lacks a sibling who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, a PNP offer, or a certificate of proficiency, but he does have a legitimate LMIA-supported employment offer in a TEER 3 occupation. After completing a three-year bachelor’s degree back home, he migrated to Canada. After finishing a two-year program, he received a diploma from an Ontario institution in Canada.
Vinod decides to join the Express Entry pool because he wants to live permanently in Canada. He does not possess an ECA for his domestic degree. Vinod’s CRS score is 470, which is lower than the current cut-off of 491.
Then, Vinod decides to get an ECA for his Indian bachelor’s degree. Vinod observes a boost in his CRS rating to 522. This exceeds the most recent cutoff score of 491 points. Vinod would have been chosen and given an ITA if he had submitted an ECA application for his degree prior to the most recent draw.
